Rozanne & Joe booked their Summer wedding with us after taking a virtual online tour of Berwick during lockdown..
“We wanted a venue that was a little bit different with plenty of character and with beautiful grounds. We particularly liked the layout of the building at Berwick as it meant we could have some outdoor time during the day for G&Ts but then have everyone together for the evening party. After a virtual tour with the team at Berwick we were sold. Everyone was going through such difficult times during the pandemic but service was always with a smile and they were flexible to our plans. The support on the day from Magdalena was great. She was very calm but very attentive and fixed the small last-minute issues for us, such as no flowers left for the cake! ” – Rozanne & Joe
MEETING
Rozanne & Joe met through a mutual friend in early 2019 and after finding out that Rozanne was in the process of buying a new flat, Joe used this as a good excuse to find out more about the block she was buying in. Obviously this had to happen over a drink! 9 months later they were engaged!
PROPOSAL
On the first night of their holiday in Bali in December 2019, Joe booked a private dinner in the jungle in Ubud for the two of them and totally surprised Rozanne by getting down on one knee!
EMOTIONS
Rozanne was mostly calm on the morning of the Wedding and although she was slightly emotional at times, both were overwhelmed with love and happiness throughout the day. Joe however, cried several times in the morning of the Wedding, throughout the ceremony and at the speeches!
When Rozanne reached Joe at the end of the aisle (pictured) Joe's dad burst out with 'blimmin' beautiful' and made the guests laugh.

FLOWERS & DECORATIONS

The flowers of choice were blush and ivory roses, fluffy pink peonies and lots of natural greenery.
Rozanne originally had all venue flowers and bouquets ordered with a florist, however, after a last-minute cancellation by the florist a month before, she decided to make the table centre pieces themselves. Rozanne sprayed painted bottles gold and she and her bridesmaid came up to fill the vases with beautiful roses and peonies the day before. Fortunately, Sarah Tynan Flowers in Portishead came to the rescue at short notice and organised stunning bouquets and buttonholes for the wedding party.
Decorations around the venue comprised of more flowers in the beautiful gold bottles and a very personal touch was 3D Mr and Mrs letters that Joe's 10 year old son Alfie made for them.
Table numbers and names were printed in gold and a large 'Finally married' sign was displayed, adorned with more flowers.
COLOUR SCHEME
Ivory/Blush/Navy
TABLE PLAN
Rozanne & Joe were keen to have fun on the top table so rather than going with tradition, they shared the top table with the Bridesmaids, Best Man and Joe's sons, Alfie & Billy. A large table of friends sat on the table next to them and the fun began!
CAKE
A stunning 3 tier semi-naked cake by Cake Fest stole the show! Each tier was a different flavour - chocolate, lemon and lime & coconut - and it was simply delicious.
FAVOURS
If there's one thing the couple's friends love it's a drink! Tequila Rosé was the shot of choice on Rozanne's hen party and the fact that it's pink meant it tied in perfectly with the colour scheme too.
ENTERTAINMENT
Cheese was most certainly not on the playlist for these two. Brad Francis the DJ played old school RnB, garage and chart music on the night, everyone loved it and were on the dance floor until late.
A Magician and Magic Mirror kept guests entertained.
THREADS
Joe, his Groomsmen, both dads and Joe's sons all wore 3 piece navy suits with matching pocket squares and ties. Joe's grey waistcoat made him stand out from the others, who wore a navy waistcoat.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Their images by Neil Williams Photography capture the spirit and love of the day absolutely perfectly. Neil's wife was part of the photography team on the day and they were both brilliant! You can see more of Neil's images below in the gallery.
STANDOUT MOMENTS
Caught up in the high sprits of the day (or maybe it was the Tequila Rosé), Joe managed to miss out any mention of Rozanne in his speech! He'd dropped the 2 pages with his prepared speech about Rozanne but more than made up for it with a second speech, all about her. The speeches were beautiful and very funny.
Joe's cousin have the couple a small plot of land and made them into a Lord and Lady!
The party in the evening had such a brilliant atmosphere!
THE DRESS
Rozanne's satin ivory Enzoani dress had a full skirt, pockets and a huge, wonky bow on the back. She wanted a traditional dress with a modern take and this is exactly what she chose. Having tried on 21 dresses at The White Collection in Portishead, Rozanne tried 'the one' on last and that was it, decision made!
BRIDESMAIDS
The bridesmaid dresses were high neck, pleated blush affairs, with enough room to cover a six month bump. From ASOS.
