Lydia (Lid-i-a) was an Iron Age kingdom of western Anatolia located in the modern western Turkish provinces of Usak, Manisa and Izmir. Lydia was known for its gold-carrying river, and coins are said to have been invented in Lydia around the 7th century BC by King Croesus. Lydia is also the name of the hotel owners’ youngest daughter!
